Week 25 Baseball Power Rankings

Hi everyone, we are down to the final two weeks in the MLB Season. The AL Wildcard and NL West Race is coming down to the wire, otherwise most races are almost a done deal. Let’s get to the Rankings shall we.

Is it Over yet?

30. Orioles 48-102 5th in AL East LW: 30

Very legitimate chance the Orioles will finish with their worst record in club history.

29. Diamondbacks 48-102 5th in NL West LW: 29

A couple of sweeps at the hands of Giants and Dodgers over last two weeks could also have Dbacks finishing with their worst record in club history.

28. Rangers 55-95 5th in AL West LW: 27

The Rangers are going to finish their first season with fans in their new ballpark with a 100 loss season, tough going in the Lone Star State.

27. Pirates 56-94 5th in NL Central LW: 28

The Pirates are about to hit the over on their over under (one of my favorite prop bets) and could still lose under 100 games, small accomplishments.

26. Nationals 61-89 5th in NL East LW: 26

Outside of Juan Soto the Nats have just been a brutal watch down the stretch this season, not enough on Major League roster.

25. Marlins 64-86 4th in NL East LW: 25

The Marlins again appear to rebuilding, does it even count when you are rebuilding every season?

24. Twins 65-85 5th in AL Central LW: 24

The miserable season is almost over in Minnesota, the question continues to remain what direction to move towards in the future of a winnable division.

23. Cubs 67-83 4th in NL Central LW: 23

The Cubs recently had a seven game winning streak and have shown some signs of life down the stretch. Will be a few lean years in meantime.

22. Royals 69-82 4th in NL Central LW: 22

Congrats to Salvador Perez for getting the all time record for single season homeruns by a catcher. Best Royal since George Brett.

21. Rockies 70-79 4th in NL West LW: 21

The Rockies are playing spoiler down the stretch against the Phillies and Braves. Could really play spoiler with the Dodgers coming to Coors next.

20. Angels 72-78 4th in AL West LW: 19

Another disappointing season for the Halos. With the resources they have an under .500 season and a 4th place finish is flat out unacceptable.

19. Tigers 74-78 3rd in AL Central LW: 20

With the schedule they have left a .500 campaign with a 2nd place finish is not out of the realm of possibility, would be an incredible accomplishment.

18. Mets 73-77 3rd in NL East LW: 17

I know they still have a slim shot at the NL East but this team is cooked, a very disappointing season in Queens. This team is not as talented as we thought.

17. Indians 73-76 2nd in AL Central LW: 18

The Indians are about as average as they come, they are also on the verge of being overtaken by a very frisky Tigers team for 2nd in the AL Central.

Fighting for the Postseason

16. Phillies 76-74 2nd in NL East LW: 16

With a three game series in Atlanta next week and a favorable schedule we must still consider the Phillies in the playoff hunt. Just don’t look great.

15. Padres 76-73 3rd in NL West LW: 14

The Padres could possibly finish under .500 with two remaining series against the Giants. Doesn’t help their best two players are fighting, what a disaster.

14. Reds 78-73 3rd in NL Central LW: 13

The Reds have blown many opportunities with one of the worst bullpens in baseball. Schedule is easiest in game which gives them a slim shot in the end.

13. Braves 78-70 1st in NL East LW: 12

The Braves have struggled against the better teams in baseball and need to take care of business in Arizona to ensure their position atop their division.

12. Cardinals 80-69 2nd in NL Central LW: 15

The Cards all but put the Padres out of their misery. Reds fans are hoping Brewers play their starters over final two weeks to make life for redbirds tough.

11. Mariners 81-69 3rd in AL West LW: 10

It has been an incredible season for the Mariners all withstanding. But they likely are just about out of time and too many teams in front of them.

10. Athletics 82-68 2nd in AL West LW: 11

The A’s are only two out but with remaining games against the Mariners and Astros it is a tough road for the A’s to climb two teams to get into the dance.

9. Yankees 84-67 4th in AL East LW: 9

The Yankees are incredibly in serious danger of missing the playoff. With series against the Red Sox and Blue Jays they can play their way in still.

8. Blue Jays 84-66 3rd in AL East LW: 7

The Blue Jays metrically are by far better than any team in AL not from Tampa or Houston. But they still must fight for their lives down the stretch.

7. White Sox 85-66 1st in AL Central LW: 6

The White Sox are in the playoffs but they should be on the fighting for their lives list with how average they have looked over the past three months.

6. Red Sox 86-65 2nd in AL East LW: 8

The Red Sox are very close to moving up a tier but must win a series of their hated rivals from the Bronx over the Weekend to ensure their playoff berth.

In the Party

5. Astros 89-61 1st in AL West LW: 5

They are all but locked into the two spot in the AL Playoffs. The biggest question will be do they have enough pitching to win it all fair and square.

4. Brewers 91-59 1st in NL Central LW: 4

With the premier pitching the Brewers are a nightmare for all comers in the playoffs, the big question is does the Brew Crew have enough hitting for the arms.

3. Rays 93-58 1st in AL East LW: 3

Having the best division in baseball be all but over with still two weeks to play is a testament to how great this Rays team is, question is can they finally win it all

2. Dodgers 96-54 2nd in NL West LW: 2

Dodger fans would agree that they would rather play six games against the cooked Padres then three games at a very frisky Rockies team in Coors field.

1.Giants 97-53 1st in NL West LW: 1

The Giants have almost made it to the finish line holding off one of the best rosters we have ever seen to win their division, do you believe in miracles?
