Baseball Power Rankings Week 24

Hi everyone, just three more weeks left. Here comes the Blue Jays, and does anyone want the second NL Wild Card. We shall find out!!

Dead Teams Walking

30 Orioles 46-97 5th in Place in AL East LW: 30

Orioles almost certainly going to break their all time worst record of 54-108 (which was set in 2019).

29. Diamondbacks 47-97 5th in NL West LW: 29

The Dbacks are in danger of breaking their all time worst record of 51-111.

28. Pirates 52-91 5th in NL Central LW: 28

My most fun over/under watch, Pirates over/under is at 58, we are so close!

27. Rangers 53-90 5th in AL West LW: 27

Kudos to the Rangers who have won 6 of 10 and are playing spoiler down the stretch.

26. Nationals 59-85 5th in NL East LW: 25

I’ll keep stating it was probably the right call to move Scherzer and Turner at trade deadline, but sure there is remorse.

25. Marlins 61-83 4th in NL East LW: 26

The Marlins do have some good young pitching. But need to have some sense of direction offensively, outside of Jazz Chisholm not much young hitting.

24. Twins 63-82 5th in AL Central LW: 24

The Twins are going to lose over 90 games this season. I wonder what Vegas odds were for the Twins losing 90 games this year if a such bet existed.

23. Cubs 65-79 4th in NL Central LW: 21

Remember when the Cubs where in first place in June. Boy is baseball a long season my friends.

22. Royals 65-78 4th in AL Central LW: 23

If it wasn’t for baby Vlad and the Ohtani show, Salvador Perez would have a great argument for AL MVP.

21. Rockies 66-78 4th in NL West LW: 22

German Marquez is one of the most underrated pitchers in game. Would be among games elite if he didn’t pitch in Mile High.

20. Tigers 68-76 3rd in AL Central LW: 20

It does not appear the Tigers are going to get to .500 this year. Still some outstanding young pitching to build around.

19. Angels 70-73 4th in AL West LW: 19

You can argue the Angels have the two best players in all of baseball yet can’t even crack .500. The system there is broken, tear it down.

18. Indians 70-72 2nd in AL Central LW: 17

The Indians are the epitome of a boring baseball team. Have great pitching but outside of Jose Ramirez have no hitting.

The fight for the 2nd NL Wildcard

17. Mets 72-73 3rd in NL East LW: 18

I cannot believe I’m putting the 72-73 Mets still in the hunt but they are not out of the putrid NL Wildcard hunt.

16. Phillies 72-71 2nd in NL East LW: 15

They likely are done for division after flopping at home to the Rockies but still in NL Wild card hunt.

15. Cardinals 74-69 3rd in NL Central LW: 16

We must say at this point that the Cards are going to take the 2nd NL Wildcard. They are the only team not completely flailing in September thus far.

14. Padres 74-69 3rd in NL West: LW: 12

The Padres with the way they are fading down the stretch could possibly finish at 81-81. Is Jayce Tingler on the hot seat. This team has collapsed.

13. Reds 75-69 2nd in NL Central LW: 14

The Reds bullpen is likely going to be the death of them down the stretch. A shame for a team that is fun to watch when up to bat.

In a category of their own

12. Braves 76-66 1st in NL East LW: 13

The Braves at 10 games over .500 are a safe bet to win their fourth consecutive division title. What a dumpster fire the 2021 NL East ended up being.

AL Wildcard Contenders

11. Athletics 77-66 3rd in AL West LW: 11

The A’s are likely out of the hunt at this point but with how the other teams (sans Blue Jays) are fading back into the pack let’s give them another week.

10. Mariners 78-66 2nd in AL West LW: 10

The M’s lost a home series to the Dbacks in what you would think would bury them. But they are playing the Red Sox next and won first game, stay tuned.

9. Yankees 81-65 2nd in AL East LW: 7

The Yankees shouting match in Queens on Sunday was the most fight they have shown in weeks.

8. Red Sox 81-65 3rd in AL East LW: 8

The Sox are somehow still clinging onto a glimpse of playoff hope. They haven’t played consistent good baseball for over 2 months.

7. Blue Jays 81-63 2nd in AL East LW: 9

I called this as my darkhorse World Series contender before the season and feel vindicated as such. As long as the back end holds it’s part no holes w this team

Clinched or so to clinch

6. White Sox 82-61 1st in AL Central LW: 6

The White Sox are still my AL favorite. Concern is they have been on cruise control for 4 months. Let’s see if they can ramp it up in the playoffs.

5. Astros 84-59 1st in AL West LW: 5

I still doubt them in the postseason but even with the loss of George Springs they have been the class of baseball offensively (Sans Blue Jays).

4. Brewers 89-55 1st in NL Central LW: 4

Man Corbin Burnes is filthy. Was unfortunate he couldn’t finish off the no no in Cleveland. The pitching on this team is insane.

3. Rays 89-55 1st in AL East LW: 3

Big market Yankees and Red Sox with all of their big names and the big bad Blue Jays in this division and yet the small market Rays are up 8 games, facts.

2. Dodgers 92-53 2nd in NL West LW: 2

This Dodgers team might be the best team on paper I’ve ever seen in my lifetime yet they are likely going to play and 84 win team in a one game playoff.

1.Giants 94-50 1st in NL West LW: 1

The reason why the Dodgers are in this position is because they San Francisco Giants just refuse to lose even a single baseball game, #juggernauts.
