Hi everyone, Super Bowl Sunday is near. My Top 12 for today is the top 12 moments of the playoffs. Just give me your thoughts and follow me online.
12. Hamlin fake punt fail
Demar Hamlin nearly died on a football field last season in Cincinnati. He remarkably was able to recover and return to the field. He hardly played all year but in the divisional round against the Chiefs. The former Pitt Panther had a fake punt snapped to him. Unfortunately, it did not go well.
11. Stroud Dime
C.J Stroud will win the rookie of the year and is one of the up and coming stars in the NFL. One of his top moments of the year was this dime to Dalton Schultz to put the Texans up 10 on the Browns in the Wildcard round. The Texans would cruise to a 45-14 victory.
10. Jordan Love’s game clinching interception
Jordan Love proved at the end of 2023 that the Packers have yet another Franchise Quarterback. However, he’s more Farve than Rodgers and that was shown in spades in his game sealing interception to lose to the 49ers in the divisional round. Like Brett it’s hero ball all the time.
9. Josh Allen goes beast mode
Josh Allen is probably the most dynamic Quarterback with his legs not named Lamar Jackson in the NFL. So when he ran for a 52 yard touchdown against the Steelers nobody was surprised. Still the okie dope fake slide was just so slick.
8. Mahomes to Kelce back shoulder
The Chiefs would come out with a bang in the AFC championship with a signature back should fade from Mahomes to Kelce to begin the scoring in Baltimore. I think Taylor Swift approves this message.
7. Savage pick six
The Cowboys were getting bush whacked 20-0 late in the first half against the Packers in the wildcard round. Dak Prescott would be leading the Cowboys on a late first half drive to possibly get back into the game. Well that would soon change in a heartbeat after Packers safety Darnell Strange would return a pick six, game over!!
6. It’s cold in Kansas City
The wildcard matchup between the Chiefs and Dolphins was one of the coldest games ever. See what happens to Patrick Mahomes helmet here, told ya!
5. Mahomes to Scantling to seal it
Patrick Mahomes would again come up with a signature moment getting a 3rd and 9 to clinch the Chiefs 4th Super Bowl berth in 5 years. Can you believe the man who couldn’t catch all year (Marques Valdez-Scantling) was the recipient of the clinching reception.
4. 49ers seal it
Really the moment that was awesome as the Niners would seal their 8th super bowl berth with a 34-31 win was Brock Purdy. The man who has been polaring (really only because of where he was drafted) showed for the first time ever extreme emotion after the clock struck zero, well deserved Brock.
3. Aiyuk helmet catch
This was not like the David Tyree helmet catch. No Lions corner Kindle Vildor had an errant Brock Purdy deep pass hit him right in the helmet (or more the face mask) pop in the air and be caught by 49ers wide out Brandon Aiyuk for a game 50 yard reception. Yes that Aiyuk is a sun devil!!!
2. wide right!!!!!
Tyler Bass lines up for a 44 yard field goal down 27-24 to the Chiefs with 1:39 left to play in the divisional round and his kick goes… yeah wide right. Don’t ever say that to a Bills fan.
1. Lions win a playoff gamer
3rd and 8 with 2 minutes left. Lions clinging to a 24-23 lead over former Lions general Matthew Stafford and the Rams. Jared Goff completes a 9 yard pass to Amon Ra St. Brown game over. Watching the response from a tortured fan base as the catch was made gave me goosebumps. Gave everyone goosebumps. The Lions aren’t snake bitten like the Bills, Vikings or Falcons. They are just bad historically, this moment was awesome and even the Super Bowl would be tough to beat!!!
