This is why we love football, we say this every year do we really know what we are talking about? The league is so random and the fact that 28 of the 32 teams have won and lost a game so far and we are only three games in proves this, let’s talk about some things shall we?
32. Texans 0-2 LW: 31
I might be wrong on Davis Mills, he might not be the next coming of Kirk Cousins and more of a fringe starter. Lovie Smith though does have this team playing hard. But you can tell this team does not possess the proper amount of talent to win a ton of games. Blown opportunity at Chicago against a very flawed Bears team. Onto the wounded Chargers.
31. Seahawks 1-2 LW: 30
Tough loss at home for the Hawks as they are looking to disappear into the abyss. Russell Wilson is not having the greatest start to the season but what the Pete Carroll did to the man that gave Peter C 9 consecutive winning season with 8 of those being playoff appearances was a little more than disrespectful. What Petey C is going to get in return is likely a 3 to 5 win season, yay.
30. Jets 1-2 LW: 25
Hey everyone mommy lover Zach Wilson is returning to save the day for the propellers this week, all rejoice. I do enjoy the wide receiver talent on this team but overall this is a very flawed roster with a pseudo defensive coordinator leading the show. Quinnen Williams losing his cool with the defensive line coach is a bad look. This is a team in disarray and heads could roll if they lose to PIt.
29. Falcons 1-2 LW: 32
The dirty birds are a fun team to watch and have been competitive in all three games this season. Maybe I have them this low due to expectations but the Falcons do have a lot of holes in this roster. They don’t have enough playmakers and the defense is weak on all three levels on defense. But Marcus Mariotta is probably like the 20th best QB in the game and is proving he’s a competent starting QB
28. Raiders 0-3 LW: 19
I don’t think the Vaders are one of the worst five teams in the league but this is a fact. They are the only team without a win or a tie. It doesn’t matter that they blew opportunities to win all three games thus far they haven’t won or tied yet. Derek Carr has been inconsistent and the defense is weak on the back end if the pass rush doesn’t immediately get home. Huge game against Den on Sun.
27. Commanders 1-2 LW: 24
Either the Eagles defensive line is otherworldly or the team formerly known as the Fighting Football’s have a putrid offensive line. I have to eat some crow for a week for defending Carson Wentz but any Quarterback that gets sacked nine times (yes Ed Rooney 9 times!!) is not going to have much success. Oh have fun next week against Micah Parsons and that pass rush next week, holy hell.
26. Steelers 1-2 LW: 22
Mitch Trubisky is not the answer. I know that he hasn’t turned the ball over much but he also hasn’t made any true difference either. He had more three and outs than the Citadel against Alabama on Thursday nights uninspiring defeat at the hands of the Cleveland Browns. Please put in Kenny Pickett now Michael. Don’t look at me with that stubborn look Tomlin and do the right thing sir!!
25. Patriots 1-2 LW: 20
I was thinking to myself there is a team I need to discuss in the bottom 10 and couldn’t remember who it was, oh yeah the Pats. You wouldn’t think a team coached by the holy hooded legend himself could ever field a forgettable team but are you excited to watch a team with no team speed Quarterbacked by Brian Hoyer? Yeah that’s what I thought, going to be the longest season in a while in N.E.
24. Titans 1-2 LW: 28
I’m not going to do jumping jacks here because I still think the Titans have not looked anywhere near a good football team thus far. They have less explosion than a sparkler on offense and the defense has struggled against the pass thus far. The only saving grace is they play in a bad division and maybe the Jags are the world beaters they have shown to be but as of now Titans are still in this thing.
23. Panthers 1-2 LW: 29
Baker Mayfield has not looked all that much better than Sam Darnold huh? The only thing in Baker’s favor is he has protected the football but he has not made a major impact in the passing game thus far. Maybe it’s coaching after all, maybe the weapons aren’t as good as we say they are. The one thing team kitty does have going for them is a good defense, they balled out against N.O on Sunday.
22. Bears 2-1 LW: 27
But Drew the Bears are 2-1 how can you still have them this low.. I don’t know maybe because Kyler Murray in a game that his team didn’t score a touchdown completed 14 more passes in that game then Justin Fields has TOTAL in 3 games. The running game and defense is good but man this passing offense rivals an Air Force or Navy passing attack. Yes play from the pistol all day Justin.
21. Lions 1-2 LW: 18
Yes the Lions are still above the Bears with one less win. I still don’t know how the Lions lost in Minnesota on Sunday but I called my shot when I said to the world that the Lions would somehow lose that game at Minnesota yet control the game throughout. Now the are a sizeable favorite against the Seahawks on Sunday and I don’t like it one bit. This team is going to be far more dangerous as dogs
20. Cardinals 1-2 LW: 13
This ranking might be out of some respect because the Cardinals have not looked like a team that should be ranked in the middle of the power rankings thus far. They cannot get explosive plays on offense and the defense on yards per play basis is by far the worst in the league. The saving grace is DeAndre Hopkins returns in three weeks and if they can beat the Panthers and Seahawks would be 3-3.
19. Saints 1-2 LW: 12
I think we could clearly say that Sean Peyton is a great coach as Jameis Winston looked about as good as he ever had last season before tearing his ACL. This year Shamus Jameis is back to throwing the ball in harms way and being a turnover machine. This team has a fantastic defense and when Alvin Kamara returns maybe the Saints should go through him, not dooms day yet in the big easy.
18. Giants 2-1 LW: 15
The Giants lost at home to the Cowboys on Monday night and now have another winnable game (and I recommend them to win it) against the Bears on Sunday. My concern with this team is the same concerns I’ve had for the past few seasons. Daniel Jones take a ton of sacks, the receivers drop too many balls and the offensive line outside of left tackle is mediocre at best, rinse and repeat.
17. Chargers 1-2 LW: 8
I know the injury list is long here but losing 38-10 at home (well sort of it’s the Chargers were talking about) to the upstart Jaguars is unacceptable. You know Justin Herbert is dealing with fractured ribs yet still head coach Brandon Staley has Herbert dropping back in the 4th Quarter down 21 and then 28 points. Staley might lose his job midseason if the Chargers continue to underachieve like this.
16. Browns 2-1 LW: 21
Hey the Browns should be 3-0 (or 2-1 if you think they got lucky against the Panthers). Here are things I do like about the Brownies. They have a legit above average defense with a transcendent game wrecker up front. They have an elite offensive line and two excellent running backs. When upstanding citizen DeShaun Watson returns this team could make a late run in the AFC, watch out.
15. Colts 1-1 LW: 26
The Colts can play defense, they are very fast and physical on that side of the football. Darius Leonard should return soon as well to make an even bigger impact on that side of the football. The offense though is a mess. That random late drive nonwithstanding against the Chiefs on Sunday the Colts have this, a washed up Quarterback and an overrated offensive line, still not out of it though.
14. 49ers 1-2 LW: 10
Jimmy Garoppolo looked like a Quarterback that hasn’t taken any practice reps all year with how skittish he played on Sunday night in the laughably odd final score of 11-10 to the Broncos. But the 49ers fan base should not panic at all. This is one of the best defenses in football and the Niners still have some of the best weapons (Deebo, Kittle) in the game, the 49ers are going to be just fine everyone.
13. Bengals 1-2 LW: 17
Great work by the Bengals defense keeping the Jets out of the end zone in a work man like 27-12 victory on Sunday. The Bengals next have a very tired Miami Dolphins team on a short week. This factor is why the Bengals are a 3.5 home favorite over and undefeated team. Tee Higgins might not play though which will hurt the Bengals passing attack. Cincy though is not in a bad spot, still good team
12. Cowboys 2-1 LW: 16
Is Dak Prescott really overrated? Yes I’ve always stated this but let me follow with this hot take. COOPER RUSH IS NOT BETTER THAN DAK PRESCOTT, please just stop everyone. A backup Quarterback plays solid for two weeks makes a couple of clutch throws and the defense primarily leads the team to victory and social media thinks this guy is the second coming of Troy Aikman, stop it!!
11. Vikings 2-1 LW: 11
Even with a clutch win I feel even worse about this Vikings team. They got pushed around for three hours against the Lions but found a way to still win the game because the Lions went Lions and couldn’t close the damn thing out. Both lines are not very good and Kirk Cousins still looks like a scared deer in the road against the blitz. Interesting game in London against the Saints this Sunday morning.
10. Broncos 2-1 LW: 14
Having this Broncos team in the top ten shows just how weak the league has been overall thus far this season. The Broncos can’t get clock management right. They are a mess in the red zone. Russell Wilson looks like he can’t read defenses right now. The coach looks in over his head. But an awesome defense and a big time hard fought win on Sunday night has the Burros in first place, go figure.
9. Jaguars 2-1 LW: 23
Yes everyone the Jags jumped 14 spots in my power rankings to vault into the top 10. But let’s see they have outscored two thought of Super Bowl contenders before the year 62-10 in the last two weeks. Trevor Lawrence is playing like the guy we all said he would be coming out of Clemson and the defense is like a sleek sports car, fast and furious. Maybe Doug Pederson is a good football coach??
8. Ravens 2-1 LW: 9
Lamar Jackson is my MVP through the first three weeks of the season. What Lamar is doing so well so far in the early going is throwing the ball down the field. He is playing aggressive not just with his legs but with his arm. This team is banged up as well. Once they get some of their guys on the back end back look out. Bold statement, winner of Bills Ravens game on Sunday gets AFC 1 seed.
7. Rams 2-1 LW: 7
The Rams still look a little off to me. They did take care of business in a place and against a team that they always take care of business against (the Cardinals) but the offense is very limited and the defense has struggled to get a consistent pass rush. Good news is if the Rams win their second consecutive divisional road game in San Fran on Monday night, this division is theirs already.
6. Bucs 2-1 LW: 3
Injuries do matter yes, but is it so that America’s favorite mannequin is finally showing his age. Tom Brady has been grumpier than my grandfather so far this season and seeing that he is as old as my grandfather it makes sense. But the Bucs have score three total offensive touchdowns in three games. The Lions have scored 12, the Jags have scored 9. Maybe father time has finally arrived.
5. Packers 2-1 LW: 6
We talk all of this trash about the Packers and Aaron Rodgers yet oh look the Packers are 2-1 after beating the Bucs on Sunday and have a Charmin paper soft schedule coming up. I told you the Packers would have this division on lockdown by the end of October and oh look I’m going to be correct. You need to stop overreacting to one Week 1 game media, this team is still among the NFC best.
4. Dolphins 3-0 LW: 5
Mike McDaniel didn’t just beat the mighty Bills but he also fixed my computer and taught me calculus after the game. I know Mike McDaniel doesn’t fit the look as an upcoming NFL coach like a Kyle Shannahan or Sean McVay but the Phins new head coach is certainly looking the part. But it was he defense and the Miami heat and humidity that won the game on Sunday against the Bills.
3. Chiefs 2-1 LW: 2
That might be the dumbest loss of the season any team will have the way the Chiefs lost to the Colts on Sunday. Let’s see what happened, muffed punt, missed extra point, terrible failed fake field goal, missed 34 yard field goal, and lastly Chris Jones after a big third down sack pretty much saying to Matt Ryan I’m your daddy which resulted in a Colts first down, Chiefs will be just fine.
2. Bills 2-1 LW: 1
Guess the Bills aren’t going 20-0 but they in my opinion were the better team in South Florida on Sunday. But Josh Allen was very unclutch with clock management at the end of both halfs and missing Isaiah McKenzie wide open on a 4th and goal. As I said I think the AFC one seed is the winner of the Bills Ravens game on Sunday. The AFC North is not good at all and Pats/Jets=4 easy wins.
1. Eagles 3-0 LW: 4
What else can I say that I didn’t on my youtube channel yesterday. The Eagles have won by blowout each of the past two weeks and in both games dominated so thoroughly in the first half they didn’t even have to score in the 2nd half and was still never threatened. Both lines are dominant, Jalen Hurts has made the leap. Nick Sirianni being in over his head ended up being an awful take, birds are for real.
