Hi everyone, another Week is in the books for the NFL. We are going to look back on the top Moments of Week 4. This is a new tradition throughout the season. Everyone is really enjoying this piece so let’s keep doing it for 14 more weeks, what do you think.
12. Dak’s Dime to Amari
Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys have looked very impressive in this early portion of the Season. This was on full display in the third Quarter went the Cowboys did their APEX Golden State Warriors impersonation scoring 20 points in half a quarter in a game that got out of hand from the previously unbeaten Panthers in a Texas minute. This dime to Amari Cooper gave the Lone Star’s the lead for good.
11. Just like the good ol days, Rodgers to Cobb, Pack Win
Aaron Rodgers to Randall Cobb on 4th and 8 is still a play that haunt Bears fans souls to this day. Eight years later Aaron and Randall are back at it again scoring twice in a convincing 27-17 win over the corpse that once was the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Packers look like at this point they may have the NFC North wrapped up by Thanksgiving.
10. Herbert to Cook, Bolts are for Real
The Chargers got an emphatic win on Monday night over the previously undefeated Raiders. Even when a game the lighting bolts were looking to blow (something they have done thousands of times), they were able to get a big stop, take advantage of a missed field goal and put this game to sleep. The Big play in the first half was a beautiful toss by up and coming star Quarterback Justin Herbert to tight end Jared Cook, the Bolts are for real!
9. Ravens go for the Record, Vic not happy
The Ravens came up with a resounding 23-7 win over the previously unbeaten Broncos on Sunday. That would be the story you would think we would all be discussing but it was not. The discussion was the Ravens going for an NFL Record 43rd straight game with 100 yards rushing instead of kneeling on the ball with 30 seconds left in the game. It was blatant disrespect by the Ravens but hey if you don’t like do something about it!!!
8. McKissic is in, bad gambling beat for the Falcons
The WFT was down 30-28 with under a minute left and in field goal range. The line was Washington minus 1.5 so if you have a ticket on the dirty birds you are feeling good about things even if Dustin Hopkins makes the game winning kick. As McKissic is going airborn to score the 30 yard winning score I’m sure Washington fans are like nooooo (don’t give them the ball back) and Falcons bets are like nooooo (he’s out at the one, no way he’s in), I love gambling.
7. McPherson for the win, Bengals 3-1
There is always a team no one expects to do great that does great every year. This years team may be the Bengals of Cincinnati. Joe Burrow looks like McCullay Culkin without his helmet on and like Joe Montana with his helmet on. The receivers are awesome, the defense is improved. The big test will be this week as Mr. Man Bun and the Packers are onto Cincinnati, grab your popcorn friends!
6. Kyler’s Houdini, Cards only unbeaten
Kyler Murray and the Cards have been the toast of the NFL through the first week of the season. After struggling with the plucky Jags for a period of time they were able to pull away. In Los Angeles against the suddenly flat Rams the Cards went all Remember the Titans (“leave no doubt!!!”). We could choose many plays but this third and 16 scramble is the reason why Kyler Murray is going to give defensive coordinators nightmares for the foreseeable future.
5. Patrick Mahomes professional Bowler
Patrick Mahomes has invented new ways to throw the ball in his young career. At Philadelphia on Sunday Patty dimes decided to bowl the ball to Cylde Edwards-Helaire. I would say that he was trying to get his PBA card but this more looked like a cricket pitcher than a bowler. Maybe they can dress up in sweater vest and be on a cricket field for next State Farm commercial, come on Jake let’s get this idea rolling!!
4. Saquon with the walk off touchdown
The Giants were very impressive in New Orleans on Sunday. They came back from down 21-10 in the 4th to pull the comeback. Sean Peyton was calling crazy pass plays with Taysom Hill. Jabrill Peppers reacting to winning the overtime coin toss was all we needed to know. The New York Giants were destined to win their first football game in 2021 and that is exactly what they did.
3. Randy Bullock is wide left, Jets win
The New York football Jets have looked brutally bad on offense throughout the season thus far. The trend did not seem to change early in Week 4 as they fell down 9-0 early in the game. But then all of a sudden things began to work. Zach Wilson was throwing the ball all of the yard and this time the ball was going into his receivers hands instead of opposing defensive backs. The game was won however when it appears that Titans coach Mike Vrabel was cool with playing for a tie and that backfiring because the Tennessee Titans are not allowed to have good place kickers.
2. Russ the magican
Russell Wilson has made a career out of making ridiculous things happen. He has had some awesome so far this year but we hadn’t see his ridiculous escapeability until Week 4 in San Fran. Niners safety Dontae Johnson has Russ dead to rights on a blitz but Wilson as he typical does was able to break the tackle and throw an absolute dime to Freddie Swain in the corner of the endzone, the Hawks are not dead yet.
1.Doink, god loves Tom Brady
I went over the puzzling decision for Bill Belichick to chuck out his aging kicker for a 56 yarder in the rain instead of going for it on 4th and 3 in my power rankings yesterday. The one positive was Bill Belichick proved (as I said he would) that he can create an awesome gameplan against a great quarterback. Tom Brady looked quite ordinary in his return to foxboro on Sunday night. Conclusion is that God loves Tom Brady, no other explanation at this point.
