Drew’s Top 12 Moments of Week 2

Hi everyone, we are through two weeks in the NFL Season. Has been quite a treat, I will be doing my game reviews all Season on Wednesdays’. Get some good tidbits from Drew. These list are almost made for good banter so please respond below or on Facebook or Twitter, have a great Wednesday.

12. Zach Wilson’s Bad Day

Zach Wilson had himself a rough home debut in front of the New Jersey fans. He threw three interceptions in his first five attempts and four interceptions in his first eleven attempts. Since that Zach Wilson has as much support as a Camel in the desert there is going to be more rough days ahead this season for the BYU Cougar. Just keep your head up kid.

11. Josh Allen to Diggs, Bills win big

Josh Allen had an up and down second game of the Season but it did not matter as the Bills throttled their aquatic rivals from the south in convincing fashion. Allen’s big play in the game came in the first Quarter as he rolled out and did a cardinal sin for Quarterbacks not named Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes, he threw across his body. Lucky for the Wyoming Cowboy it was a pretty darn good receiver awaiting on the other end in Stefon Diggs.

10. Carr to Ruggs for the clincher

Derek Carr has been playing at an all pro level over the first two Weeks of the Season. Without his top running back, on five days rest and playing cross country did not matter for the Vegas QB as he threw for 382 yards and two touchdowns including a game sealing 61 yarder to Henry Ruggs the third midway through the 4th Quarter. It may be a Vegas style party in the Mojave desert in 2021.

9. Joe Burrow’s Sunday of giving

Joe Burrow had gone 199 passes without an interception. Even though he has been getting battered in bruised in his young career, mainly due to him being a rambo like tough guy and having a subpar offensive line, he had only throw 5 career picks in 11 previous starts. That would all change on Sunday as Joe Burrow would throw 3 fourth Quarter interceptions on three consecutive attempts. Huge props to the Bayou Bengal to throw two td’s on the new two drives but wasn’t quite enough as the Bengals would fall 20-17.

8. Jalen Ramsey coming up huge in the clutch

Carson Wentz injured both ankle and the Rams looked to be the far better team all day. However, even with these scenarios being the truth the Colts had a chance late to force overtime or steal the game from the Rams. Neither would happen as Jalen Ramsey would show why he’s the best corner in the game jumping a Jacob Eason pass to get the game sealing interception. The Rams are certainly not lacking in star power.

7. Rodgers throwing dimes, Packers Roll

The Packers through the first six quarters of the Season looked like they were going to be at the bottom of the NFL Power Rankings through 2 weeks. That all changed after the half in their 35-17 Win over the Lions as the Pack would score on their first three second half drives and cruise from there. Anyone who is stating that Aaron Rodgers is cooked needs to see some of these throws, as Marisa Tomei in My Cousin Vinny would say the defense is wrawn!!

6. Brady has 9 touchdowns through 2 games!

Tommy touchdowns is throwing lots of them early in the Season. The Bucs defense has been somewhat suspect early in the season (especially against the pass). But the Bucs passing attack has been the new deadliest catch (a football joke get it!!!). Mr. Brady had five more touchdown tosses in Week 2’s 48-25 win over the Falcons of Atlanta.

5. Titans Gritty comeback, Derrick Henry is still the king

One of the most impressive moments in the entire league in Week 2 was the Titans going up to Seattle after being boat raced by Arizona in Week 1 and coming back from down 24-9 at the half to win 33-30 in overtime. The Titans defense did a great job of pressure Russell Wilson after halftime and also kudos to the Titans of Nashville to not abandon their gameplan after the half. Derrick Henry shows he’s still pretty good at football when he gets in a rhythm.

4. Vikings kicking game oi vey

Gary Anderson, Blair Walsh, Dan Bailey, Greg Joseph, oi vey. Only the Vikings can lose a game with their kicker making two 52 yard field goals only to miss an extra point and a chip shot 37 yarder (indoors mind you) to win it. The look on Mike Zimmer said it all, he wasn’t even shocked or upset that Joseph missed the kick. I’ve spoke to a couple of Vikings fans who both said they expected him to miss that kick. The Bills and Falcons may be more cursed but boy the Vikings are in a close third if that is true.

3. Greg the leg for the Win

Mike McCarthy should never be allowed to be in charge of clock management ever again. He must think they are playing baseball and have limitless time. Regardless Greg Zuerlin who can still kick the ball further than any kicker not named Matt Prater (you see his 62 yard bomb, Jiminy Crickets!!) bailed out his Sunday strolling head coach to hit a 56 yard bomb to win at the Chargers 20-17. Nice turn out by the Bolts fans, was only about 70 percent Cowboy fans at the game.

2. Offside defense, 5 yard penalty Giants lose

When you have been as bad as the Giants have in recent seasons, you find a new way to lose. After the WFT took a 27-26 lead late in the fourth Quarter on Thursday night. The Football’s newest star Quarterback Taylor (open a) Heinicke threw a pick deep in their own territory. The Giants decided to go conservative and settle for the field goal to take a two point lead. Taylor Heinicke is a baller though, and ballers atone for their mistakes as he took his Washington footballs into field goal range. But Dustin Hopkins would miss the game winning 48 yarder, but wait… Offsides defense number 97, Hopkins would make the kick on his opportunity at redemption, Dexter Lawrence your right over the center dude!! There’s the doghouse and then there is wherever Dexter Lawrence currently is in the eyes of head coach Joe Judge.

1.Lamar Jackson Finally beats the Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes threw a pick falling down up by 11 which flipped the game. Now down one and in field goal range and just running the clock down to set up the winning kick, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire fumbled the ball while barely being touched. The Chiefs are so good that even though they gave up almost 500 total yards and almost 300 yards on the ground they still should have won the football game. However, we must give credit to Lamar Jackson who was awesome in the second half and came up with the big run on 4th and 2 at their own 43 with a minute remaining to clinch the game. John Harbaugh showed more emotion in that moment than I’ve ever seen him show and this is a man that has won a Super Bowl. To say this win was a little bit of a big deal for the purple birds would be a gross understatement.
