Hi everyone, I am in Arizona right now and was traveling yesterday so a day late but never a dollar short on our top 12 list of the week. I also wanted to see when the NFL Schedule was released so we can see what the best matchups were of the season. Here’s my list please as always have some debate and banter as this is always what these list are made for.
12. Seahawks @ Cardinals Week 18
There is always going to be a great Week 18 game. My one complaint is that there isn’t many marquee matchups to end this season. I believe the Steelers Ravens could have been here but I’m going with what was the locale and rematch of the best Sunday night game of the 2020 Season. This game almost certainly will have something if not everything on the line. Will be high drama regardless and the best game on the Week 18 slate.
11. Cowboys @ Buccaneers Week 1 (Opening Thursday game)
How can we not have the opening night game on this list. We almost certainly knew the powers that would be would have to grab the ratings opportunity with the Cowboys as one of the Bucs opponents this season. But there is so much drama for this game. Can the Bucs start a repeat season? Will Dak Prescott show he’s worth the money. It will all unfold on Thursday September 9th.
10. Ravens @ Raiders Week 1 (Monday night football)
Vegas has been waiting for this for a very long time and this is the death stars true grand opening. I am interested in seeing what the new black hole will look like. What will the ambience be, will it be the hard nosed, rough edge side of Vegas which is very much the Raiders montage when in Oakland and Los Angeles. Or a corporate atmosphere (because the casinos are giving their top clientele free tickets every game a serious concern amongst many die hard Raider fans). We will find out, either way this game is going to be awesome to watch either in person or television.
9. Browns @ Steelers Week 17 (Monday night football)
Revenge game by the big brother who finally saw the little brother fight back. I’m not sold on the Steelers complete demise (as many are) or the Browns rise to being a Super Bowl favorite (as many are). I see this as a game between two rivals fighting for a division and/or playoff berth and will be great Television!
8. Seahawks @ Packers Week 10
Any Packers game on this list is assuming Aaron Rodgers is still the quarterback on the Packers. The Seahawks and Packers have had some awesome and some bizarre football games over the past ten years (who can forget the fail mary!). But a hidden storyline to this game for those of you who loves drama and gossip is this is the disgruntled QB Bowl, should be fun!
7, Rams @ 49ers Week 10 (Monday night football)
This is always a hyper competitive game between two teams from the left coast. The questions will be is Jimmy G still in San Fran and if he is who’s the quarterback by this time. Also Sean McVay kind of has a problem beating Kyle Shanahan. Many believe it was Jared Goff’s Rams losing to Nick Mullens 49ers in Week 12 of last Season that was the final straw that ended up exiling the former Cal Bear from the city of Angels. There is endless amounts of storylines for what is the best Monday night game in the 2021 Season.
6. Chiefs @ Ravens Week 2 (Sunday night Football)
Spoiler alert, many of these Top 6 games are Sunday night affairs. The NFL kind of knows what they are doing when they make the Schedule. The story line here is two Super Bowl Contenders and can the Lamar Jackson finally beat Patrick Mahomes. Last Season the Chiefs humiliated Baltimore in a game that was far more lopsided that the 34-20 final would indicate. Something tells me this game is going to be a little more competitive than that one.
5. Browns @ Ravens Week 12 (Sunday night football)
Browns and Ravens had the best game of the entire season in Week 14 in what is being remember as Cramp Gate (allegedly!). This is also a huge litmus test for both teams especially the Browns who lost both meeting to the Ravens last season. Whatever happens here it should be a great one. Just make sure to take your poop breaks during the commercial breaks (little inside joke for you!).
4. Bills @ Buccaneers Week 14
Bills at Bucs is potential Super Bowl preview between two teams almost certain to be two of the best in their respective conferences this season. Josh Allen was really bad against the Pats when Brady was in New England so this is a chance for the Wyoming star to prove he can battle against the GOAT. Should be one of the best games of the 2021 slate.
3. Bills @ Chiefs Week 5 (Sunday night football)
The two top teams in the AFC last season appear to be (at least on paper) the two best teams in the AFC coming into this year. The Chiefs won comfortably in both meetings last season. The Bills know if they want to get to the big game this is a game that they must compete in and eventually win. Plus Josh Allen VS Patrick Mahomes in likely decent weather is going to be an absolute treat to watch!
2. Packers @ Chiefs Week 9
The greatest asset of adding a 17 game is the potential extra matchup we get. If this was last Season the Packers and Chiefs would not play this season. Thanks to the new game added the Packers Chiefs is by far the best 17th game added. Of course this all goes away if it’s Blake Bortles Vs Chad Henne. Well actually that game would be awesome as well for different reason (I see a toast from the Twitter world behind me!).
1.Buccanneers Vs Patriots Week 4 (Sunday night football)
Come on it’s Brady in Foxboro Vs the Belichek defense. I don’t even need to write anymore except that the drama and anticipation meter on a scale from 1 to 10 is like a 28 for this game. Hope you enjoyed my list, if you think I missed a game please respond. Let’s have start some arguments why don’t we!!!!
